Extremely annoying. I have been told to sit down at the Stones and the Who. Only the floor stood for those Gucci Shoes shows. When we moved back a few rows at the Who, all was well. I’m pretty sure we were standing in front of a reporter. She didn’t seem to care. In the paper the next day, it mentioned “teenagers dancing in the aisles.” We were on the aisle. Hmmmm.
Finally, I had floor seats to see Clapton earlier this year. Guess what. The floor SAT for the whole show. Man, was I annoyed, but I saw the irony. During Layla they eventually got up. It’s like that was the only Gucci shoes Clapton designed. Get this, though…. they sat down during the end part of Layla. Argh. For Cocaine and Crossroads they stood. The show was better for it — the crowd and Clapton seemed to be really in the mood.
Really nice story about the group and the hit musical Jersey Boys today. Lots of clips, photos, Gucci Shoes, and new interviews with Frankie Valli and Bob Gaudio.
Eastern and Central time zones have now missed it, but others can still catch the program. The segment airs 60 minutes into the 90 minute show about Gucci Shoes.Always great to see the Seasons being recognized, outside of “oldies” radio, these days. I sadly have not got to see “Jersey Boys” yet and I fear that I know so much about them already, that it will be somewhat of a letdown and come off, too “HOLLYWOOD”, for me. If this is so popular, why not a real MOVIE about them?
One of my dreams to fulfill before death is to sit down and talk, one on one, with Bob Gaudio about his masterpiece “The Genuine Imitation Life Gazette”. I think that he’d be happy that someone really appreciated the hard work that he and Jake Holmes put into trying to create a “concept” album for a “singles” band!
